Default 40 Inch tire option

So all this year i have loved my 40 inch mtr`s with kevlar but 1 has a chunk missing out of the side wall and another has a buldge between the kevlar and rubber I have had one on order since may. So now goodyear is willing to give me full credit on a return for all four. Im guessing they know they have problems with them. I have to buy my next 4 from 4 wheel parts and all they have in stock are the bfg krawlers in a 40 or a irok radial in a 41
The bfg`s are going to cost me $1600 for the diffrence and the iroks will cost me like $200. I ran a set of 37 inch lrawlers on my DD for a long time and had good luck with them but never rock crawled with either tire.Im steering twards the krawler But would like some real world opinions.

Stay away from radial iroks. Sidewalls are weak.

Full trade in PLUS $1600 for the krawlers!! Fuck that. You're in a shitty spot since there is next to nothing in that size still. The 41" radial pit bulls (if 4wd parts has them) seem to be very popular and people are very happy with them.

Are the Krawlers red label or blue? Blues are decent all around tires. Reds are awesome in the rocks but suck in the snow so you really need a second set of tires if you do snow wheeling. Plus the reds wear out pretty quickly. I ran blue 35's for a few years and they were pretty decent all around tires. I also ran 37" radial Iroks and 39.5" bias Iroks. I don't have anything bad to say about either Irok. For an all around tire, my 39.5 bias Iroks have been great. I don't have any experience with the 41" radials.

$780 for Krawlers?????

What's your intended wheeling? Sand, rocks, mud, snow? None or some of the above?

did you call the number i gave you?

i would never run a irok again after having my sx2's. going to be hard to get something comparable to those mtr's for all around use..you better just get the saw out and get the 42's.

so the sx2's are only available in 42"? Can you easily get them?

LTB's are hard to come by too?

Nobody's had any issues with the Pitbulls and love them...so far. Size options for a 17" rim are 39.5 or 42 in the bias version and 41.5 in the radial version. My only question is the sidewall strength/tear resistance. Any kind of warranty????

Krawlers are awesome for most of what Joe does (except for the snow) but are still priced like b*tch because they're BFG's.

yea they just come in the 42.i have no idea were to get those. have not seen them available. the 43 sx is the hot tire now and available in regulaar and stickie.

i found him 40" mtr stickies and 42' mtr stickies. sounded like they had the regulars in stock also. but it sounds like to get his money back he has to stay with 4wheel parts.

still don't know what type of wheeling you intend to do?

I voted for the Iroks. BFGs are too pricey
