is this a multi-lap endurance style race, or just time a single lap or???

How many vehicles on the course at a time?

It's a single pass, timed run. One rig on the course at a time.
Course was 1/2 mile last year, we're expanding it to 1 mile this year.
If you don't like your first pass, you can use a "mulligan" and run again.
Your second pass time is the one you will use for the money.
This made for a great finish last year!

Last year the sweet buggy took a mulligan run and went from 2nd to last because they didn't have or "need" a winch.

I might try and run this year, but it depends on the layout of the course. I was there and ready last year and decided just to spectate. Ended up that it was a wise decision because there was one section that took out the wiper cowl and hood on all three full bodied jeeps and the windshield frame of another. The buggies and the Samurai w the exo cage just bounced off the trees so the only damage was paint. I think the only way to have avoided it was to jump or skip over the large rock that was wedged between the trees, and that would have necessitated a heavy duty, full coverage skid plate to save the oil and tranny pans.
And if the v notch where you have to lay your rig on it's side is part of the course, I'm spectating. Other than that, I look forward to it.

Is it a "fast" 1 mile, or 1 mile of crawling or???

Is there any pre-running or atleast walking the course before hand?

It's a long way, and $200 for a 1 mile run isn't exactly cheap. If I'm in the states I might do it.

There's going to be a mixture of both. Be prepaired to Crawl, and Haul.
Last years winning time was 08m:44s
Last years last place time was 45m:00s
You can walk the course starting Friday afternoon, as well as the morning of the event. The Sportsman Course will be on the same course, but with some minor modifications for Sundays Race.

It's a long way, and $200 for a 1 mile run isn't exactly cheap. If I'm in the states I might do it.

True, it's not cheap, but we really want this one to be the "Big One" to wrap up the end of the wheeling season. Last years price was $300, and there were some suggestions that we lower it this year, as well at change the start time. Which will now be now be 12 noon. All entry money is going to be paid back in the purse, as well as some big dollar prizes awarded.
All I can say is we had a hell of a good time last year!
Hope you can make it out, even if your watching the action.

The course will be in the same area, but we've moved the start & finish to within 30 yards of each other. No more mad dash this year.
We will be adding yardage, and fluffing other parts, as well as building some new things to help with the show.
We've improved the Cowl Crusher, but I don't think you're going to like it much. We've added some trail yardage getting up to Cowl Crusher, that we like to call "Oil Pan Alley".
For the Sportsmans Class, we will be avoiding that spot. You'll have the option of avoiding some of the more extreem things during the Sportsman Class Run, but it will still be on the same course/area. This way we get more folks running and having a good time, that don't have the things like D60's, Atlas Cases, LT1's, ect...in their Jeeps. We are hoping this will give others that normally wouldn't run in an event like this a taste of what it's like to compete w/o trashing the wifes daily driver. (to much)
Hope to see you make it back out this year!
