If you will be traveling on National Forest System lands, be sure you have a motor vehicle use map. This will show which roads are open for travel. Many tracks in the Hungerford area are not open for travel, including the powerline. If the road is not on MVUM, it is closed. There has been a great deal of vandalism in this area and it is high on our list of patrol areas.

I have been on these trails before, and plotted my route per the MVUM. I do not travel on powerlines or trails not designated for vehicle use. I practice Tread Lightly so we will be on the trails, and not causing any vandilism or damage to any wild life. I will be keeping the ride peaceful so we don't cause any problems while on the trails and to help keep what trails open to stay open.

Joe has a map that we follow. ;)

edit: i was late lol

And I am assuming you are a DNR officer? I am from the area and went to Ferris. And USE to go down the powerlines when i was younger (until i was educated about the legalities by other RESPONSIBLE wheelers). The main problem out there is kids from ferris, burning tires and partying and "MUDDIN".

We were talking awhile back and i had the idea of charging to be on the powerlines, some type of seasonal sticker, or pass, something along those lines. There are some AWESOME hill climbs/off camber areas, etc. (i could care less about the mud holes anymore). I think it would be a good way for the power company to make some money, and responsible wheelers to have some more challenging trails. And not worry about the idiots that try to run/pull their gates over!!!!

Probably will never happen but figured I'd throw the idea out there.

Thanks
Kelsey

What days you out there?
It's a joke, I don't condone or support illegal wheeling.
