Flat bed is one turnning piont for a commercial plate.
SOS says any pick-up, once the factory box is changed out, requires a com. plate.
Yes, I know plenty of Rednecks driving around with plywood beds that don't have a com. plate.
I'm saying, if the SOS asks if it has a factory box, You'll pay more if it has any other type bed.
Also, if you're pulled over, you could be ticketed for not having the com. plate.

There is no reason to even think of a srw for towing. Anyone that thinks that their srw can handle what a drw truck can is insane. drw = no sway. drw = more gvw. srw = owner to cheap and lazy (or stupid ) to own the drw. End of story

get whatever fits your budget. i didnt care and ended up finding a dually and love it. it is 2wd and sucks in snow but that dont matter to me cause it gets parked all winter. i got it to tow my jeep and slide in truck camper but the truck is too wide to fit under the jacks on the camper so im looking at modifying the jacks or getting a gooseneck to put the camper on the front. any way i do it i know my truck is big enough for the job. and besides driving a dually is bad ass
