Default Lock First Post but Read Latest Post First

Just thinking, Is there a way to Lock the first post, at the top of a thread, then have the latest post first, or first post first. Whichever the user prefers?

When you are looking at a thread, the first post the OP makes would stay fixed or locked, then the next post would either be the next post in sequence of time from the OP or the latest/most recent post. Under user options you can toggle between OP first or Latest Post first. I perfer the latest so i'm caught up, but sometimes it's nice to go back 3 or 4 pages to the OP and see what the hell everyone was talking about.

OK this is what I was thinking, just because then on "for Sale" you'd see the OP then the latest reply

FWIW, I enclosed and marked the OP, I just cut and pasted it in Paint.
