Default S10 lift

Has anyone installed the 6 inch lift from superlift on their s10/s15 truck? if so how well is it working? i am thinking about getting one for mine.

If you are going to wheel it at all I wouldn't bother. The IFS on these trucks can't handle the added stress. Go with the solid axle idea - you will be MUCH happier with the end result

I did the 6in on mine and havent had any major problems. It depends on how hard you are on it though. I beat the hell out of mine and cracked both upper control arms. I also have to replace the cv shafts every two years unless i snap one. Along with ball joints and wheel bearings every year. I get all the lifetime warranty stuff that autozone and napa have so it just takes time to do it.

To me that wasn't worth it. I had 33's on the stock suspension (2" BL), and with the lifetime NAPA premium ball joints, they loosened up on me in about 2 months - and that was 95% road use. Plus I broke 2 front driveshafts, 1 rear axle, 1 front diff, and all the steering slop that I replaced with the lifetime stuff too only to have it loosen up. I absolutely love the simplicity and strengh of the solid axle now. I was daily driving it for the last year and a half and it was wonderful to me. The only bad thing is the mileage (which is why I'm driving a car now )

Yeah i wish i would have gone with the sfa. At the time though there wasnt really a kit for it and being 18 without a lot of experience working on cars and no welding experience i decided to keep the ifs. Alos to help you millage you can get your pcm tuned to help that. I sent my pcm in to pcmforless and had them make some changes. I now get 15mpg in the city and roughly 20 on the highway. Thats with my 33s and 3.73 gears. No, its not great but just as good if not better than a stock blazer. Im hoping the 350 swap this winter will make it even better.

Wow cant believe you guys get such bad gas mileage me on 35's I get 18 city and 20 highway. I think the 4.88s, msd, headers, and 5 speed help a bit

O and the hell with the IFS

every 4.3 s10 is diff. Plus about half of it is the driver. do you get any "dolphin" from the sfa? like the old 70's chevy's have. At lest that's what my father in-law is telling me. he said that it is going to rock back and forth when i drive it. I want to wheel it every now and then but mostly daily driving. I also want something strong as hell, and I know that i can get that from the SFA. I guess its just a lot of thinking to do? not in a rush just want more then what i got.

My truck rides a hundred time better than stock, it is so smooth due to the improvement in suspension design over the IFS. Yes with leafs front and rear it is possible to have your truck ride like a lumber wagon, but your longer wheel base helps with this. But replacing IFS with leaf springs would be a step backwards anyways

Do a lot of reading here in the sfa section

I loved my sas with leafs up front. It rode fine and handled good, no sway bars or anything. Just was time to go bigger.
