Default Custom Built Tilting Crawler Hauler - SOLD

SOLD

This was my dream trailer but I have decided to get out of the game for awhile. Jeep and pull truck are already sold……this is the final piece of the trilogy.

Custom built high end all steel tilting trailer with premium features and components. Designed and built to meet the following goals:

- Maximize strength
- Minimize weight
- Reliability
- Ease of use
- Versatility
- Sufficient storage for long trips

The quality of the materials and craftsmanship can be seen in everything from the double ram tilting system, to the torsion axles, to the LED lighting, to the custom construction.………

I used it to carry my 114” wheelbase/ 85” wide / 4,800 lb Jeep. It is versatile enough to handle up to 125” wheelbase / 96” wide / 7,500 lbs.

DETAILS

Deck:
- All steel diamond plate
- Integrated low profile drive over fenders
- 96” Wide (capable of hauling a vehicle up to this width)
- 15’ long
- 48” open center
- Drop down engineered trusses
- Optional bolt on runner extensions to reduce the center opening to 24”
- Good paint (has a base coat of POR15 under the gloss black top coat + trailer stored inside)

Axles:
- Dual Dexter Torflex torsion axles http://www.dexteraxle.com/torflex_axles
- 5,200 lb load rating each
- 6 lug
- Brakes on both axles
- New brakes (~ 2,000 miles)
- New bearings (~ 2,000 miles)

Tires/Wheels:
- Carlisle Radial trailer tires (ST225/70 R15) (~ 2,000 miles)
- Load Range D
- 2 spares (low miles on the spares but they do have some age on them)
- Chrome steel wheels (have some minor surface rust)

Tilt System:
- Dual Lion 3.5” Lion tilting cylinders
- Controls, battery, pump, tank , etc… all enclosed inside of aluminum storage
- Complete hydrualic system is in like new condition
- New battery in 2010
- System works flawlessly

Lighting:
- 100% LED lighting
- 20 total lights
o 14 amber clearance
o 6 dedicated 4” red for stop/turn/tail
- All lights installed in 2010
- VERY bright at night

Storage:
- 2 integrated aluminum boxes (both ~ 76” wide)
- 1 wedge shape on front
- 1 low profile rectangular
- Matching locks on both boxes
- Enough room to haul spares, food, luggage, etc…

Misc:
- New jack in 2010
- HD safety chains with grade 70 hooks
- Brand new breakaway box still in original packaging
- Fabricated license plate frame
- Wieght distribution brackets welded to frame

Condition:
- Overall 9 out of 10
- Trailer was stored inside
- Mechanically flawless – I would load it and pull it across the country tomorrow
- All maintenance is 100%
- Tires are excellent
- Tilting system is 100%
- Only things keeping it from being a 10 are:
o There is some surface rust on the chrome steel wheels (I have not tried to clean them up but there is a picture to show current condition)
o The rectangular aluminum storage box was cut down to allow for a lower profile race car to be hauled. The work was OK but the fit and finish is not 100%
o The spare tires are great tread wise but they do show some age

This is the most functional, best built, best pulling trailer I have ever been around. It has been well cared for and is ready to go. It was over $8,000 when originally built.

Price: $3,500

** I am pulling parts together to start a JK build and would be interested in trades on hard parts for that: Atlas, 60's, Suspension, etc...

Location: Oxford, MI (48371)
Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to check it out.

Bump for a sweet trailer wish I could afford. But that's more than I spent on the jeep.
