Default No name Sbc comanche

I've been on here for a few years now, but don't post too often.
This will be my first build, I've owned a few jeeps but have never really done much fab work.

The plans is:
350/ th350/ Ford np205
9in / d44
Sticking with leafs and stock style long arm front suspension for now
37s
Cage
Etc.

Hoping to keep it an all purpose rig. I have alot of buddy's that do dirt drags, so it will see that as well as trails and street.

Hoping to get some boggers and run schuss mtn 2016.

Picked up this thing for $500 last fall. Non running 2.5 and 2wd. Was planning on swapping in a 8.8, hp 30, ax15, and 231 and daily driving it.

It sat for a few months and finally this spring I started messing with it. Turns out someone didn't know the firing order and had the wires all mixed up. Fixed it and gave it some ether and it fired right up. Found out quick it has a weak cylinder and pours oil out of every possible seal
Still had to take it for a drive

I picked up a 9in and HP d44 from a buddy for really cheap in the spring and decided to change the Comanche plans up a bit. Pulled the 44 apart it was full of mud and rust. A couple weeks ago I grabbed another 44 already set up for a jeep off of here. Also collected a th350 that needs a rebuild from elsewhere

Last weekend I got the axles sitting in so I could Atleast see where it sits until I can afford the next steps. Being a 20 year old with too many projects means the budget is pretty low

Pulled the carpet yesterday and found some nice custom floor windows as expected. Just more stuff to add to the list! Hoping to get the old motor and trans out this weekend and possibly pull my 350 from a buddy's parts truck soon

How are you adapting the ford 205 to the th350?

That is one thing that might change though.

Yah there really isn't a cheap way to do it. I've been looking into it. I might end up going with a Chevy 203 to ford 205 doubler

Not that I've found so far. I need driver drop, I was debating on a Dana 300 but I don't want to end up blowing it apart.

It'll be unique. Like my SBC XJ. Ignore the no pics found parts.

Nice, what are you running for headers? I looked through your build quick and didn't see anything, I'm sure I missed it somewhere.

Hedman headers #68360. They were a drop in.

Got my new front springs in today and started to trim some sheet metal to see where I want to be with it. I think I am going to cut the rears to where I want and re shape and weld the inners since the pinch welds are only about 1/2" in and I have rust repair to do anyways.

My tie rod ends should be in early next week so I can get the steering done

Swapped shackles and cut out the rear inner fenders Sunday. Got my steering welded up and started reaming the knuckles for my 1 ton tre's and my reamer is dull so I guess that's going to wait. I think I'm going to order Clayton 3 link set up for the front this weekend.

I've been seriously slacking on this project lately, but with less than 2 months until deadline it's time to get moving. Small change if plans motor wise, I'm building a 5.3 for a buddy's camaro but he is going to let me run it for a little while, almost done with that. Clayton 3 link and track bar ordered. Trans will be tore down this weekend, as well as the old motor and trans pulled.
