The employees don't. Not so sure about the people who have to take the bath.

I just believe that our world continues to get worse because there are people out there who take advantage of someone's good intentions. The intent of the warranty is that if it fails, you get a new one. Not that you can keep trading them in so they end up giving you 10 winches for the price of one. If everyone did that, it would drive them out of business.

That's why there is a warranty time period.

It looks like 8000# is $479 - $80 rebate = $400 for a WARN winch! Not to bad if you ask me.

Thanks Jim. I need a winch for the new(er) Jeep and this fits better in my budget.

I get your. point.I personally try to pay for what I get,and get what I pay for.
Now if harbor freight wants to flood the market with cheap ass tools that are not only a joke, but dangerous sometimes,I could care less,if someone takes advantage of the return policy.they buy train cars full of junk from china, and peddle it here, who cares about these greedy assholes?you? 90% of the stuff they sell is junk, and how many people drive back wasting gas to get a few bucks back, when the junk they sell fails?
The last thing i bought at harbor freight was bungee cords, and magnetic trailer lights.
The trailer lights were wired wrong,so both turn signals flashed at once, and the magnets would not hold the lights down, they fell off and got run over on the first use.the bungee cords all broke the first time i used them as well,if i didnt stop often to check my load i would have lost about $1000 in tools straped on the rack on my jeep.
I see your point, but for me,it does not apply to harbor freight.

I have the older 10k hf one and has never failed me. Never stops pullin, drug my truck on 44s with them almost gone under mud with johns fj40 hooked behind me dead weight, pulled cable most the way out, hook up, pull, repeated for 3 to 4 hours, without any trouble. But they are SUPER slow

I have an older HF8000 winch it has never failed to work when I needed it. A couple times it needed a break before I could spool the cable back in.

Where are the cheaper Warn Winches made? I bought their receiver clevis mount over another one because the because the box said made in the USA. When I opened it the mount said made in Korea and the clevis was a cheap chinese one I am afraid to use. I sent Warn an E-mail and never got a reply but the boxes don't say made in USA anymore. The box was the only thing made here.

I'll give you that. Let's just say that somewhere in between, it would be fucking over your local hardware guy if someone were doing it to him.

So don't buy from them? It seems to me that you know what you are purchasing when you go in there, and are too cheap to spend the money somewhere else. Your friend seems to have the same mentality, and chooses to defraud a business by being shady.

I thought i was purchasing bungy cords, not rope licorice with hooks.
My winch is a warn 8274, cheap? Think $2000 mounted. Dipshit.
I would still buy a hf winch, beat it,and return it, If i was not happy with it In the warenty period.THATS WHY YOU PAY FOR THE WARENTY.
If you knew anything, you would know how box stores bang people, for a extended warenty, that amounts to swat, same with used car warenty bs.

If i didn't stop for gas, and check my load,I would have lost over $1000 in tools on the highway, because of junk rubber, when i told them do you think they cared? Do you think they pulled them of off the shelf?like i recomended,so a guy doesn't lose his tools(life/job)?
No, they still sell the same bungy cords, and I just got the flier with magnetic trailer lights, that are wired wrong (unsafe)on sale.told them about those also.
Yep Im shady

I don't think I could turn something in before the warranty was up and get the same product again when nothing was wrong with the first one. That just doesn't seem moral to me.

And that's why I like you, even though I don't know you. You exhibit a fine sense of morality.

FYI a warranty doesn't exist so that you can receive a new product for whatever reason you like within the warranty period. That is what we enlightened types know as 'fraud'. Perhaps your sense of morality allows you do this without guilt, as it seems. Mine and others wouldn't, because we recognize it for what it is - wrong.

Are you guys running the older chicago electric ones or the newer badlands version?

You can get the badlands 9000 for 280 right now with coupon. Thinking about grabing one since I currently have nothing.
