Default guaging interest in 99 VW Jetta TDI

I've got three kids and 4 vehicles. The Jetta is the smallest so it's most likely the one to go. It's been a pretty dependable car. A few small annoyances, but nothing major. It's really basic, no power windows, no CD player, just cheap transportation. It doesnt get washed often and the interior gets trashed by the kids, so it's not exactly in show room condition. We bought it when my wife was driving 75 miles a day for work. Now she stays at home and the Jetta sits alot of the time.

It's a TDI (diesel) so it averages about 42-44 mpg combined and about 54 on the highway. I've squeezed 800 miles from a tank of fuel (14 gal tank) but it usually averages 600-700 miles per tank. It goes 15,000 miles between oil changes too, so even though it requires full synth. oil, it is pretty cheap to maintain.

THeres a little dent on the drivers front fender and a broken marker light where some chick on a cell phone backed out of a parking lot into it, but it really isnt noticable from a distance. The seats are tan and the stains from the kids show up noticably.

Right now the A/C decided to quit working. But I think it's only the clutch.

Oh, it's got 155K on it. The motors are rated for an industrial use of 1000 hrs at ? rpm. Which basically means they can easily do 500K at 50 mph before a rebuild.

THe catch is that I need to get my truck running (motor swap) before I can sell this. Your interest may be the thing to get me motivated. Ill get some pics up in a while.

NADA Pricing

TOTAL PRICE $3,125 $4,700*

didn't realize this was the older style jetta, that drops my interest a hair, but for the right price I may still be interested.

*Edit* NADA Showed a pic of the older style, but all 1999's I seem to find on autotrader are the newer style, very interested if the price is right. give me a ring, 810-919-6509

*RE EDIT*

Noticed it could be either style depending on trim, old or newer style. More interested if it is newer style, but alas, i am still interested in talking to you.

Thanks

sorry-
its the newer style (late 99 or mk IV). NADA doesnt accurately reflect street price for the TDI (do an autotrader search to see what I mean).

I'd like 6000, but am open to offers. Ill get some pictures up in the next day or so.

I definately want to have this gone by mid-october, but need to get my truck running first.

I looked on Autotrader, $6000 is about double what I would like to spend in described condition and options. For $3000 I would probably jump on it.

Thanks though
