1999, 7.3, f350 cranking slow..why?

i have a late 1999 f350 7.3, zf6. cclb.

ive been having problems with my truck cranking slower than i think it should.. most of the 7.3s that ive heard have starters that turn over the engine really quick... it seems to me that mine isnt cranking nearly as fast... like only one of my batteries is hooked up.. and when im cranking it the lights dim out and sounds like the batteries are drained.... i got both batteries tested and they are good.. the alternator is charging and showing about 15 volts...

is my starter going bad? not sure what its called but is the link between my dual batteries bad? i think its an electrical problem other than anything else.

let me know what you guys think.. any input would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like it could be a starter solenoid drawing high amps/going bad, loose wires, or corrosion on some of the terminals.

Send a message via AIM to Bones
also be sure to check the pos battery cable that runs from the battery to the starter AND the neg cable. I have seen both of those cables with corrosion issues.

If you pull it (starter) you can have it tested for draw.
