Rode around in this tonight

Put the wideband on it and found it was going real lean at wot, like 15-16:1 lean checked out the carb, found the PO swapped some stuff around and had the jetting way off. Made some changes, took it for another ride and it really picked up, AFR was nice at about 12.8-13.4 all the way up.

Very nice ride Tim

Glad it didn't go boom before you got it squared away.

It wasn't running that lean.....according to the plugs. Just light at the top end beyond where I'd normally run it. Now it should be plenty safe at almost all RPM's.

Now if I can just keep the belts on it over 6500.....

It's WAY smoother on the power as well.

Thanks Adam!!! you do nice work!

I think the alt is getting tossed and that's taking out the PS pulley. I'll get the deep one ordered up today.

Black Sunshine was the fastest thing in the dunes yesterday hands down. What an incredible feeling to nail it, then have to let out of it to get it straightened out, jump back on it after shifting, and still blow by the other guy- all in 300 feet!

FF will get me a vid sometime in the next few days and one of is will get it posted on here.

How much was out there to race? The weekend before was pretty slim pickings on what was out there, hopefully last weekend was better.

There were a few coal-burners out there and 1 was dominant over the others- I pretty much left him in the dust- like at 1/2 track.
There was another BBF Bronco that was a little more fun to play with. He seemed a little surprised when I edged him out after letting up on it. His was a sleeper though- higher compression and a few other goodies.

Yeah- not a lot out there racing, but it was rutted out pretty bad. The other spots were all under water.

I was happy either way. I'll be heading up the weekend after the 4th next. If there aren't any decent rides to play with, I'll pack it up and head to the dragway to see what it actually runs- provided there isn't a big event going on....

Sounds about like the other weekend. Track is pretty rough. I made a couple passes down the side, but nothing in the middle. Looked like a water slide in the middle!
There was another CJ out there the weekend I was there with scoops/SBC/nitrous, but other then that, same as you. Diesel trucks. One of the Dodge trucks made a pass, turned around, came halfway up the strip, then started doing donuts like an asswipe right on the track.
