I'm going with a bunch of guys running mid 6's.... I'll definitely be the turd in the group.

I want to see how the tires run out at speed on Saturday before I commit to dragging that thing down there...

Get a wheels up pic. Don't matter if you top out 1/2 track. Getting there is fun.

IIRC, mine went mid/high 6's at 110MPH. I was paying more attention to the MPH because I couldn't launch very hard, so I know the ET wouldn't be good. Only went bottom 1.7 60's. I was leaving at half throttle until about 60-100', then going WOT to the 1/8.
Had a lot of fun though. But yea, I'd definitely want to see how the tires work out at high speed before going there.

Carb is on and she sounds MEAN! Now to get the timing issue figured out. I forsee a new MSD mech advance dizzy in my immediate future

I need to figure out a better way to vent off the oil gasses as well, Maybe another breather in my other valve cover and a 2nd PVC line. I hope I don't have to switch to a vac system...

Lastly some more tinkering with the tranny. Seems to be slipping in 2nd again. Hopefully some slight band adjustments will remedy the problem.

I would ditch the PCV sys., if you are getting oil pulled in the intake it can cause detonation, maybe that is your timing issue.

Weld a -12 fitting to you V/C and run a hose to a breather tank, in fact I have one I was gonna use on the Mustang I will cut ya a deal on.

Did you get the o2 bungs in the exh? You can borrow my Wide Band if you want to work on getting your carb dialed in.

Yes and yes. Just txt me on the breather tank. I've been researching them this morning. I think that's the way to go. I just still have some blow-by from the new rings. Only 100 miles on it so far. Nothing that is clouding out the exhaust, but it still pushes the dipstick tube out above 7000 RPM's.

Do you have a breather and a pcv? pcv's normally go closed at low vac and if you don't have a breather it might build enough pressure to push the dipstick out.

You can also do the crankcase evac kit pretty cheap/easy.

PVC and breather are both on the same VC. I think the catch can on the other VC will take care of the whole issue. I've been researching this between projects all day.

evac system may have to be installed, but I want to try this 1st. I really should have a catch can anyways....

Looks like that pro-systems carb could use a refresh. They actually do that very inexpensively. A good friend of mine is one of the main builders there.

I would look into a locking dipstick for the engine and trans. Fires bring the suck. The trans is easy, just get one from a GM truck and trim to fit. I used a Lokar on my mustang engine for the oil.

Shouldn't those be in opposite covers so it pulls in thru the breather in one cover to the pcv in the other?

Might be a Ford thing...
