Default Is this a dana 60 front axle?????

I need some help. I am looking at buying what I am told is a dana 60. I don't know what I am looking at so I thought you guys could help me out. Here are some pictures. I want a dana 60 for my willys truck project but do not want to waist my money buying something that is not a dana 60.

No pics, but "60" should be cast into the housing next to the cover.

If it has kingpins, should be a dead giveaway for a dana 60, the ujoint is much larger, and i believe dana 60 hubs should be a full 4 inches, the hd 44's neck down kinda.. And it should have 60 on the housing

kingpins are only part of it. There are ball joint Dana 60's.

I know this, I wasnt trying to imply that they only come with kingpins, but only that if it had kingpins it would be one

Most people prefer King pin.

Here some good information on Dana 60's.

This is more indicative of the internal style locking hubs. Dodge used the external style which is little more to differentiate.

Either look at the casting for "44" or "60" cast into the webbing under the axle centerline or pull a lockout off and count splines. Dana 44 fronts are 19 spline and 60's are 30 spline on the stub shafts.
