Default AWD Astro t-case swap?

Would a S-10 transfer case bolt into my '95 astro? I'd like to have 2WD and low range option.

Yep, it would be a good mod too because 1997 and older Astro vans and Bravada's have a 70/30 torque split transfer case so you will only get 30% torque to your front wheels. In 1998 and newer they both use a transfer case with 50/50 split. You would need to wire up a switch to control the motor or cut a hole in your floor for a manual shifter, I don't know where the shifter would sit in a van though and don't know if it is possible for sure, you would need to take measurements to verify but the case it's self is a direct bolt in.

what you need is a t-case from a 95 s-10 with a manual shifter. they used a cable style shifter so you could mount the shifter wherever it fits. don't buy an electric t-case as they suck. if this is for a DD i would swap front axles to the s-10 as well so you don't have as much front end drag, and use a posi-lock kit to engage the front axle.

You will also have to cut some of your trans x-member to clearance the front DS with the new case. Do a search on astrosafari.com - a few people have done it, but it didn't look worth the bother to me. You also need to know a bit on rewiring the TC control (if yours has it) to deal with van-side troubles and the transfer case controls so you can operate it (if you don't go with a manual box).
