has anyone been there? how's the water? is it cold?

Was in the water last weekend at whitewater twp. park. Plenty warm there, boated to E.R. but didn't get in the water anywhere but by the launch.

Probably as warm as it ever gets. Enjoy.

If you mean the Elk Lake between Gladwin and West Branch the water is a bit chilly because it's spring fed. A friend when I was in grade school had a cabin there. Very nice laid back atmosphere from what I remember.

elk lake by elk rapids and torch lake. the water is almost 80*

thanks for the replies. not sure exactly where on elk lake my sister rented the house, but i have heard mixed reviews about the lake. my gf and i are into water sports where everyone that's gonig is just into plain partying. is the lake good to wakeboard on? should i plan on wearing my wet suite?

I'm on Intermidiate Lake quite a bit this year. I think the only cold lake you will find this year will be Torch and Superior.
