Default Small engine people

I have a pressure washer with a 6 hp Tecumseh engine. It stopped firing up a while ago. I replaced the spark plug, it worked for a few days and then stopped again. I let it sit and now I need to use it again, it won't fire up. Removed plug, it is covered in oil. It doesn't require the use of premixed fuel either. Now what? Thanks.

You mean storing it so I can't read the "If you can read this please flip me over" bumper sticker?

Does it feel like there is no compression when you pull it ?? It may have blown a ring ?? Also you may have over filled the oil by accident , check that as well !! Oh , and quit storing it upside down , !!

Times two on over full oil, or tipped it up side down.
Does is smoke when it does run?
For just a second,or the whole time it's running?

From what I remembered the last time it ran, it was not smoking. I checked the dipstick and it was on the full line but not over full. I don't remember putting any oil into this, just checking it when I bought it to see if it needed it. It seems to pull fine. I'll drain some oil out and put a new plug in.

Just dont drain to much , go about half way between full and add !! Also make sure your not running the wrong oil (to thin) ?? And are you sure it didnt get knocked over by mistake and they someone didnt tell you ?? Also are you sure its oil and not just flooded ?? Did you check to see if its getting spark ??

My coworker asked me if it was stored perfectly level or not, and come to think of it, it was on a slight incline, so I think that was the problem. I bought a new plug. I'll check it later.
