Default St. Ignace...is it fun?

Looking to get out for the weekend, and avoid the usual bullshit spots of Traverse City, etc..

my folks live up in Gaylord and that's where the kids will be staying. We're thinking about going to St. Ignace...I figure crossing the bridge is enough to get away from any trendy shit. We just want to drink, have fun, etc.

Any thoughts on that? I haven't been across the bridge in 20 years.

Great place to camp/drink quietly.

We were up there for a couple nights in May, but just stayed there. Toured around more and didn't really do anything in St. Ignace proper other than eat and sleep. For eating, go to Clyde's and get a "Big C" burger, basket of your favorite deep fried item, and a malt to wash it down with.

If you're looking for a bar with damn good burgers go to Timothy's Pub. They have pretzel buns that are fricken scrumptious.
