Default Welfare Reform

I was reading this article and found this section funny:
Some families would start losing payments, averaging $515 a month, as early as Oct. 1. Backers of the bill are foolishly assuming a robust recovery would create enough good-paying jobs to employ those losing assistance.

Wouldn't you make more than 515 dollars a month even if you made minimum wage? Why would you need to find a good job to replace that income?

Replacing that $515 a month requires lazy fucks and career breeders to get off their asses and do something other than whine about how rough life is.

I currently work for minimum, and even PART TIME I make more than that a month.

I don't enjoy not making enough money to really go out and have much fun, but atleast I'm not a drain on society and I don't feel like a dirtbag.

Did it get you as pissy as I got when I read "Yes I work, I am a stay at home mom!" from an unemployed, unmarried, eighteen year old?

I was kidding anyways, I hate children.

But seriously, being a single mom on welfare must be very hard. how many of you could blow truckers for meth all night and still have the energy to sleep all day while your kids watch cartoons and eat paint chips?

I don't know about 18 year old, Unmarried, unemployed stay at home mothers but most studies show that stay at home mothers "make", as in they do the services that add up to, about 115,000 a year. Day care, laundry service...etc. I think it's only right when you have a person supporting you as a stay at home mother though. If you're single and got pregnant then you're, most likely, going to have a harder life and you need to get a job to support your family. Stop drawing off welfare and using your kids as an excuse to be lazy.

How does one ever get to a point that they are OK collecting welfare? I'd feel like a failure if I ever resorted to welfare food stamps or any other free assistance. I was a single mom of 3, with only an associates degree and never even considered welfare, bridge card, or any other form of assistance. (Except for student loans...) As a society, how do we instill pride into children and young adults so they don't think collecting welfare is just a part of life????

Start by putting a 4 yr lifetime cap on welfare in the state............the lazy asses will eventually go to work(unlikely) or move out of the state for a different lifetime welfare state. Take the bird feeder away and the birds leave.

120 hours a month @ $8 is just over $700 a month. End welfare now. Cut it back to no more than 12-24 months. 48 months is way too much.

if you go on welfare you will be assigned a job to report to. cleaning trash off the streets, filling potholes, cutting grass, painting, clerical, janitorial, etc. whatever city/state public works area is low on staff that's where you go in order to receive your welfare. the state pays you but you have to in return work for the money. Institute a policy of possibility of full time hire and future advancement possibilities with private sector benefit options.

those who really needed it would not hesitate to show up for their new duty. the other 95% would say fukc that and get a job on their own just so they weren't being told what to do.
