Stock Market Suggestions??

I know some of the members here do a little more than just dabble in the stock market and I'm looking to have a little fun. I recently realized that I had a little over $6k in a deferrerd 401K account from a former job. This account is with Merrill Lynch so I'm limited to purchasing stocks that they trade. if anyone has any suggestions on a hot stock let me know, seeing that I didn't know about this money I'm willing to take a couple of calculated risks in order to profit. If someone gives me a good tip that makes me some money I'm willing to give out a little cash as a reward!

Why would you be limited to stocks that Merril-Lynch trades? You can roll that 401 over to a Roth IRA or into another 401 plan regardless of who handles the account.

And, there are lots of other questions:
1) How old are you?
2) At what age would you hope to retire?
3) What else do you have in your investment portfolio? etc. etc.

If you're looking for somewhere to quickly turn your $6000 into a million, you might want to cash the 401 out and go to Vegas. Your odds would be slightly better.

I'm mostly invested in mining stocks, especially that cater to the battery industry. I'm heavily invested in RIO and a handful of lithium mining stocks.

Of course you can lose your ass in anything, but I'm looking at 40% gains over the last 24 months.

MOO is an etf that I have been riding lately, it holds CAT, MON and other agri. stocks.
SIRI is fun to mess with and lately EEE and CBP have been speculation picks

Take a look at flagstar bank. I just got me some shares

FBC

Maybe they will go from $.70 a share back up to $150 a share like they were three years ago, but more then likely they will not be around in three years.

Considering they announced a sale of 27 branch locations to PNC, I would bet less than that.

You ever look into coal or uranium mining stocks? You could problably get into coal cheap right now.

I invest in beer, when I'm done, I have the deposits.

I actually need to look into some of cc's ideas, they sound interesting.

Banks like that aren't allowed to fail anymore. They either return to profitability or they get bought out. If they get bought out they will sell for way more then the current stock price.

Plus, many analysts have pegged the last quarter as being the bottom in failed loans which is what is slaughtering these bank stocks
