Default how long would it take you to knock out this window?

anybody have any info on this story?
two babies locked in a car in the sun!

this is all I have found:
Kids locked in a dangerously hot car were saved by a group of skaters and some good samaritans. The parents locked there keys in the car and left there two 1-2 year olds in the car alone. Filmed at Crossroads Park in Bellevue Washington.

I think the skaters did very little, the guy that finally broke the window did not look like a skater, they tried to help but offered little actual help. the fag with the camera left because " he didn't like this" useless P.O.S. Everything I am finding says kids saved by skaters.

You're pissed off for all the wrong reasons. Sure it may give more credit than what's deserved, but at least they gave it a try.

Let's not forget about the parents who locked their kids in the car.

It's surprising how hard it is to break a closed window. Someone should beat the parents with a skateboard.

But in the movies they just wrap a shirt around their hand and punch through them.

I am not pissed at all, I actually did acknowledge that they tried to help the kid with the camera on the other hand is worthless for leaving because he did not like it!

Yes I agree but for the situation I think it could have been broken it faster then they did.

If you watch the video, the kid with the camera who left got the rest of his friends.

And considering the grown-ass adults were just standing either panicking or spectating, that it took some 14 year olds to take action (trying to break the window with their boards, then going and finding the piece of pipe), I say they did an alright job. None of the adults there even had the foresight to jump in their own car and crank the A/C on so when the kids got out they had a cold place to go to, they just sat them down in the shade.

Also, I bet it would take you multiple hits to break a piece of auto glass with a skateboard, you might not even be able to do it.

Sk8rs immediately try - try breaking a window on a junk car sometime to see how difficult it can be.

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, try to find a sharp object (a phillips screwdriver works okay) and direct your force to the area down by the side mirror. The stresses in the window are highest in this area.

The edge of a board might do it, but the wheels suspended on the trucks are going to distribute and absorb too much force.

that took way to long honestly i mean i understand its hard to break and whatever else but still. like why not just use a rock or a tire iron like sandals mentioned. there are plenty of other cars there im sure someone had a jack they could have used. i know back when i was a little younger i blew out someones window with a masterlock on a bikechain.

the wood was just taking in all the shock it looks like.

You just took one line out of context from the rest, to make it look positive.

The rest of your original post make the skaters out to be the target of a pissed off rant.

Windows can be extremely hard to break. In my extrication class, even with an axe, it can be close to impossible. I actually had an axe bounce right of the window several times before.

Maybe you took the original post the wrong way. that was not a rant just my observation.
I think the skaters should be commended for trying to help, that is great!
the P.O.S. with the camera though not so much, he left told his buddies and seemed to not want to go back over there.

I am not saying I would get in with the first hit on any car but you can bet your butt I would not try using a skateboard, I would find something suitable to get through that glass. A rock, tire iron as someone else said or even my heavy arse pocket knife before a skate board. I'm gonna start carrying broken spark plug insulators in my pocket just in case

I'd probably flip the board sideways like a sword and hit the window at the lower corner with the edge of the axle on the skateboard.
