i don't think you need a diesel in a 1/2 ton...if you want an oil burner buy a bigger truck

I'd be willing to bet a smaller diesel would put up numbers (stock v. stock anyways) similar to that of the ecoboost anyways, with maybe marginally better mileage.

Well, if your willing to bet then I am sure the OEM's will start putting diesels in 1/2 tons.

smaller diesel's have no power what so ever so they would never work in a 1/2 ton truck

wish gm would have followed through with the 4.5L Duramax LMK.
but instead of being original they will probably copy ford and do a truck just like the eco boost f150.

It would have been nice if GM didn't file bankruptcy and have to can the 4.5 diesel and other projects they had ready to rock. But, someone wanted to see a balance sheet say one thing, not another. But, what do we know according to the powers that be?

Both of mine (2000 with 150K and still going daily and 2008 with 45k) have been virtually trouble-free. Powerful, comfortable, reliable - albeit with markedly less stylish & plush interiors than GM or (especially) Ford.
