Default YJ rear driveshaft question...

New to the site and new to YJ's. Picking up a project 1988 YJ this weekend and have to tow it 65 miles home. I am renting a tow dolly from u haul and towing it behind my brothers Chevy 2500. They recommend removing the rear driveshaft. My question is does the driveshaft slide into the back of the transfer case on splines? I looked at it this past weekend and wasn't sure? I want to make sure so I bring the right tools to get the job done. Thanks!
