1970 International Scout

So I picked this up last night. Don't have a clue about scout!! It's got some sort of locker in the rear, 4.27 gears, 4 cylinder 196ci, and a 3 speed.

Plans: Rear brakes need everything redone, check front brakes, attatch all body panels again, new/used tires, tune up, bolt passenger seat down, fuel cell, shackle lift, new lockouts.

Looks like a pile of shit. You should have spent the money on your Blazer, or wife, or paint for the garage.

So we went to Swaines yesterday and got some head light covers cause all the scout came w/ was haedlights them selves. No hold down's or covers. Also picked up some badges for it.

Before and after clean up

Also this is what the brakes looked like when i pulled the drivers side drum off.....there was only the rear shoe that had no lining on it and nothing else was present in that side! Oh ya and the fact that it didn't have a castle nut on it to hold the hub from walking back and forth

Found most of the rear brake parts to completing redo the rear brakes. Also gonna do a disc brake conversion to the front axle. Gotta make some new shackles as well!

Got the rear brakes put on last night. Fixed the long *** brake line on the drivers side, looked like they didn't have a line cutter and flare kit. So they just bent the thing to fit. Tryed to put the lockouts on. Ran into a snag though, the new lockouts don't come w/ bolts because they are thinking your switching from drive flanges to lockouts. Not lockouts to new lockouts!!!

Looks like fun, I've always liked Scouts.

I'd find a spot on the shelf for those Lock-o-matics if they're whole and not all rusted up inside. They're a cool vintage hub and somebody might want/need them.

The one lockout the face was busted off and the other one is frozen up, thats why we got new one!
