Default it amazes me

It amazes me at how much doing 85mph vs 65mph affects your gas mileage. I have been sticking to 65 on the e-way and yesterday was running late for work. I did 85 for 36.1 miles. I dropped 1 mpg this tank just from that trip.

Does anyone else use a program to track fuel mileage?

for my wife's WJ with a 4.0
MPH MPG
60 24.6
65 23.6
70 21.8
75 20.4
80 18.1

Which means about 33% more fuel used at 80 compared to 60, or roughly 1.30 more per gallon.

My car seems to perform best at ~78 MPH. I get close to 40 mpg at almost 80 MPH. I set the cruise daily at track every tank. I have tried setting it at 65-70 and it isnt as good.

A couple years ago we tried all the Hypermilage things. It helped a bit. Keep it under 2K, drive 65, etc. I then decided I liked to drive faster. So i did.

I tried setting the cruise at just under 70 for a few days. It takes forever to get anywhere.
