Any shelf time/how long has the carb been on the shelf. The only motor for me to bolt it to is my AMC 401 and it might be still to big for that.
"Anyone" want to CHIME in and tell me the carb size would be ok for my 401 with a edelbrock airgap manifold/bored .030 over, Comp cam 280/280./8:1 pistons. Burning reg pump gas these days.
From what I read on the #1411, its for a big block like a chevy 454 or a dodge 440, etc.

It has been off of the motor for about 1 year now. I had it on a sbc 350 10.1 with 280cam and it was a little much for it. I ended up getting a screaming deal on a holly and havn't touched it since.

I'm sorry it is an edelbrock 1407.

According to my jegs magazine it is recommended for 402ci+ performer rpm / torker 2 applications calibrated for performance rather then mileage

I would think the carb would work just fine for a warmed up 401.
