i think you should go salesman. For instance, tell her that on one income you can afford the house your in now and maybe with the other income you may be able to afford a vacation house/cabin/condo somewhere cool. Get her onto that and then ease off on the idea. Then have a serious chat about what you two want, and point out that even she didnt really know what she wanted until you pointed it out. Then explain how what you want is to stay in the house your in, and continue to save money so you can retire earlier so you'll have more time together. Done. Boom.

The worst thing you can do in a relationship is to try to manipulate your wife.

The 2 of you need to sit down together and discuss your long term goals as a married couple. You need to both realize that some compromise is the best solution while considering income, children, college, retirement........ the whole shebang. If either one of you play games with this, just remember that money is right at the top of the list for divorce.

Sounds way to simple I know.

Every person changes during a relationship. It's called "growing". The key is to work together and communicate so you grow in the same direction.

Your comment was seriously one of the most rediculous things I have read on this site in a long time.

I've grown considerably in 20 years of marriage, mostly around the waist.

I agree with this.. i married Mike because I liked how honest he was and various other things. I never wanted to change a thing about him.

Yeah, any smart girl knows you get what you see. Trying to change someone is wrong. You love the person for who they are.

Unfortunately, the smart ones are in the minority or these stereotypes would not get started.

interesting? it never seems to fail that the guys who is being manipulated is in the wrong always. its never a 2 way street. you sound as though your like that?
does your husband win any arguments? get his own way more then just on pay day? I bet if you took a poll theres plenty here who would say the latter. plus if there is any in-laws that just compounds things.
