fishing equipment for the handicapped

When I was a kid my aunt had a stroke and my uncle bought her a fishing rod/reel that was specially made for handicapped people. The rod was spring loaded and would cast a lure basically by itself. My aunt and uncle have long since passed away and I'm looking to find something similar for my elderly grandfather.

I have looked online and found a "toy" version of what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know where I can find something a little more sturdy than this?

Thanks for the help

Call or email the Craig center (hospital) in Colorado. I think it's in Denver. I bet they will be able to point you in the right direction. They specialize in getting para and quudrapalegic people into leading full lives, even though he's not, they have vast resources into cool things for people that might need some additional help.

You're using the wrong wording in your searches.
Try "Adaptive" equipment.

We must all go through a rite of passage and it must be physical, it must be painful, and it must leave a mark.
