I'm going thru my "beat down" right now, my 6.0 Excursion is in the shop for EGR, mass air and 1 injector, out the door for $1300. Some genius welded my EGR shut, but didn't clean stuff up and it cost me.
Even though its some $, it still saves me $ everyday over my '97 7.3, 13+ mpg towing my 24ft enclosed, and about the same around town everyday driving, I'll take that anyday.

Don't put a new EGR cooler in. They are a PITA and not worth it. A delete kit for 300 bucks should solve all your EGR problems.

I'm glad you can read, I just said i did all my own work and I listed the parts price. Talk is cheap, everything I listed i've done except studs, and for the price I posted.

Good job Bill. I had no idea there was that much generation to generation differance in 6.0's. Almost makes me love them! Oh thats right, I get paid to fix them.

By the way, nice post on the 6.0 info. I always wondered what the details of the problems were, but not enough to go search and figure out what they were myself. That was a great summary.
