Default 8.8 axle splines

Ive got an 8.8 out of an explorer. Without taking it apart dose anyone know how to tell what splines it is?

If it is out of an Ex, it will be 31 spline. If the axle tubes have a diameter of 3.25 inches, it is 31 spline. If it has disk brakes, it is 31 spline.
