Default Poison Ivy

Sucks...cures?

Only thing I've found to really work, aside from a shot and pills from the doc, is bleach...what works for you?

IB4 Pee on yourself!

I just cleaned it with soap and water. Then a mix of sunburn, cortison (sp?), and scratch the shit out of it. Never would last more than a week for me.

Been there done that with the wife. she just has to look at it wrong and she has it. we use cider vinegar. it does the best job. it washes out the oils from the skin and then drys out the area over night in most cases. we use the scotch bright covered scrubby sponges( pour in bowl and keep dipping sponge). get all the dead skin off if you can, and if you get poison ivy in your face I have washed my face of by filling the bathroom sink with it and washing repeatedly.

Ivarest never works for me. I always used Ivy-Dry I get poison ivy almost all year around and I use this and it always works great. I would highly suggest it. Its $7.99 a bottle and as much as I get it I buy just a bottle and it lasts year round. Best investment around.

I've been really stupid, and rubbed leaves into my arm just to try to get a reaction. Nothing happens. My grandpa used to pull it out and chew on it. Supposedly after repeated exposures, people can start to react, but thats not been the case with me.

Nearly hospitalized twice. Prescription of Prednisone. Calamine on it while it is blistering /oozing. Also, while it is oozing, blot it heavily several times a day with gauze soaked in a solution of hot water and Domoboro powder. This will dry it out so much that your fingers will chap from blotting. When the oozing stops and it is completely dried out, apply Hydrocortizone.

This

Or even use Ivy Dry spray when taking the prednisone. it stops the itch well

I'm 27 and this is the first time I've ever had it. It's only on my leg and I think I got it on the damn golf course. Using cortisone cream its killing the itch, hasn't spread in a few days so can't complain. I've walked through it before, my brother and I were installing a fence a few years back and he got it real bad and I didn't have it at all, we worked in the same spots the whole day so.

It blows ass though
