Warn Winch Question

This recently came into my possesion with the fairlead and cables. My question is, how do I tell what Warn model it is, and what do you think its worth? There are some numbers on it, like 5867, and 46050.

I'm kinda new to winches, but I would geuss it needs a little work done to the electric motor.

Looks to be an 8274, and a very old one at that. All parts are available as well as upgrade parts. Great winch, legendary. You should do the gigglepin conversion on it if you want to be cool.

Well, the numbers on it are 5687, and I'm reading that it its similar to the 8274, but not the same. It looks like it was the 8274 predecessor. I think I can take it to my local starter shop, and I'll bet they can get me a new motor.

WTF is a giggle pin?

Yeah, they usually didn't have power out.

Old ones were still under the Bellevue name, before warn bought them.

in the bellvista article posted I think he tells you the motors you can find on ebay for it. Probably cheaper than having the one you have rebuilt. Plus you could upgrade.
