Default WTB: Torque Converter for 2003 Silverado

I am in need of a good working torque converter for a 2003 Silverado 1/2 ton with a 4L60e transmission (2wd if it makes a difference). Stock or a low stall is fine and the cheaper the better as long as it is in good condition. I am willing to travel a little ways but I am located in Grand Haven, MI. Call or TEXT at (616)-218-7790. - Justin.

not trying to be silly but I just bought one a couple weeks ago for $128 from NAPA, I thought that was a square deal for a new one, exact same tranny.

What year 700? I am fairly sure they are difference since mine is bolted to an LS motor and yours was bolted to an older style flywheel but I could be wrong...I will see what I can figure out and for sure let you know.

Get a junk yard converter off of god knows what. I'm sure someone will give you one if you ask nicely. Use that as the core and away you go. Just over $150 OTD.

Something else you may want to look into, and Tranny Tom may know, but with gen 1 vortec v8's (96-02 L31's) you can use a converter from a V6 vortec motor to give a little bit more stall, and still factory lockup/function/reliability.

I would like to know if this works with gen3 (your '03 for example) v8's as well...

Who puts used convertors in a tranny?I've always been a believer in putting in a new convertor because you cant properly flush out the junk from the burned up tranny. Why would someone sell a convertor from a good trans unless they switched stall?
I just figure if the lock up burns up in your convertor,it's gona do some damage to the rest of the trans by overheating the fluid and if the trans goes bad it wrecks the convertor in the same way.I've had my guy do a lot of auto trans for me and he,like most trans shops wont warrenty it unless you run a convertor they recomend (agree on).
Not bustin your balls, just dont want to see you wreck a good trans with someone else's burned up fluid in a "good used convertor"
