Default 350 tbi help

So heres the deal. i am running a early 90's 350 TBI in my jeep with a painless harness. It has run fine the last few years. All of the sudden the injectors will not pulse.

I have changed the pick-up coil and the ignition module. I also tried swaping the whole distirbuter with the one out of my dads jeep.

When i am cranking the engine and i let off the key it will sometimes spit a small amount of fuel into the intake.

I got bright idea to dump a few onuces of gas in the intake, Now the engine starts and the injectors pulse fine, however if i shut the engine off and try to restart it the injectors are dead again.

Any help would be much appreciated

Sounds like the fuel pump is on it's way out. Not enough pressure to start but will run once you help it.

check fuel pressure, but you have to disconnect the line and then can add the fuel pressure gauge, they sell them if you google it. Special fitting to run inline right before the throttle body.

There can sometimes be an issue with the oil pressure sending unit witch needs to get a reading to allow signal to the fuel pump relay.

When you turn the key to run, but donít start the truck does the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds and then shut off? It is supposed to. If you bump the engine over does the fuel pump run? When the ECM gets a reference signal from the distributor it should turn the fuel pump back on.

The oil pressure switch is wired in parallel with the fuel pump relay. Either one will cause the fuel pump to run independent of the other. The oil pressure has to get above 4 psi before the oil switch will turn on the pump. If the fuel pump relay is bad the cranking times will be long before the truck will start. At least on a stock GM truck that is how it works.

X2
I "fixed" my neighbors chevy van with a 305 tbi by putting 4 qts of oil in in a 5 qt system.
It started right up,and knocked for a few weeks before it blew up.
