Question Electric shift t- case manual shift conversion

Has anyone ever bought one of those "Shiftsters" to replace the worn out electric shift motor? i was thinking about buying one, but i wanted to know if anybody had bought one and had any experience with them. any other manual conversion options? and i'm talking about keeping my original t-case, not swaping to a manual model. i tried rebuilding everything on my shift motor, and it still won't go into 4-low. lemme know! I'm sick of fucking with this thing.

Are you sure it's the shift motor and not the T-case?

I know my ranger was a bitch to get in and out. I tried everything, level ground foot on the brake etc. etc.

I don't think mine was the shift motor either. I swapped in a working shift motor and it still didn't go in or out easy.

Good luck with that.

I'm subscribing to this. My tcase Is missing the motor. I was told this is the only problem. But the shiftster is so cheap compared to a new motor and the electric to manual rebuild. Whatever you decide, please post up.

But, on topic, the shiftster wouldn't be bad, but if you're stuck and in 2wd your somewhat fucked. Ask anyone who's had to pull the motor off and use pliers

i don't often have to Use 4-low, but the couple times i've needed it, I've been fully fucked. i've also read that they are developing a "shiftster 2" that you can engage inside the truck, but similar kits have been 300 or so bucks (that i've seen). anybody heard anything about this revamped model?

ive wheeled it before. does good donuts!

anyway, i got my Shift motor for my t-case in working order now, (shift sensor wires were swapped araound backwards) but i think the Shiftster would be a good answer to a rig like yours where there is no shift motor to speak of. i talked wit hthe guy on the phone because i heard he was developing shiftster 2 that could be controlled from the inside of the rig, but some one in canada beat him to it i guess. although, last i heard, the system from Canatucky costs like 250 bucks, and the shiftster is only 55+shipping. i don't see how it would be anyworse than getting out to lock your hubs in, especially on a lifted rig like yours. if you purchase one, send me a message and tell me how you like it. I'm still thinking about buying one to keep in the tool box in case the shift motor on my bronco fails far from civilization.

The one you're talking about that shifts from the inside.. Are you talking about the guy on Explorer-forums? That ones over 300+shipping.. It used to be 300, don't know what the price is now as he had to raise it in Dec

If it's not the same guy, do you have the info for the one in Canadia?

I'm still a long way from getting the 4x4 working on this thing.. Still deciding what I'm doing with the axles

Nothings really wrong with them but if I'm gonna have to put a few hundred in to fix 'em up to be off-road worthy, I may as well SAS it while I'm at it. I just don't know what I'm looking for.
