Looking good. I really want some of those boxes. Report on how it rides and how much lift you gain.

Maybe it should go to the one who originally bought it. I think we will be seeing him at the xmas party.

There is a diabolical plan in the works.

Mallterrains have earned my respect, however I do know their limits. I am considering buying a set of Treadwright gaurd dogs. They are the older Goodyear MTR style. If I do go this route I hope they handle the snowy roads well. The pro comps I had previously sucked at winter roads until I cut them up, then they were amazing.

I had some free time this morning to get some werk done. I installed my new shackle box relocation brackets. Install was not hard at all. I had about an hour into it.

First I removed the upper shackle bolts. and lowered the rear suspension.
Then tried to install the upper bracket. I had to open the OE mount slightly for ease of install. The new box was a tight fit. I bolted everything up loose and set it on the ground.

My first attempt at was a failure. The shackle bottomed out right away.
After some slight adjustment I think I got it at a good angle. Opinions on the angle would be appreciated.

I forgot to measure before I swapped these in but I can notice a slight amount of lift gained. The bottom of my taillight now measures 34" from the ground. I have 4.5" springs and stock shackles. I am still undecided on ride quality. I went down a sloppy dirt road today after the install and it felt really loose. Wet pavement was not any diff though.

The main reason for installing these was for strength.

I also had some time to play with my front bumper. I bought a winch from another member and needed to beef up the mounting surface.
I added 1/4" plate along the top and drilled mounting holes.
A fairlead mount was also needed.
Next comes paint.

Have not bought tires yet. I am going to try and run these untill spring if I can.

I did however finish all my projects started this year today. Front bumper is installed, gas tank skid installed, hitch, rear bumber, and winch all finally back on. Next will be replacing a leaky P/s pump.

Thanks CreepyD for lending a hand today.

That skid seems like it hangs pretty far below the tank?

Lol no it really does not hang that low, that was pre install while test fitting. I should get a pic of it fully installed. It is just a factory skid that I picked up for cheap.

It was painted out of a can but was still tacky when we installed it. The cold weather isnt helping my paint dry.
