All points to consider. The small block does me fine, but I don't wheel hard.

I seen you take the hard line into a parking spot at Vic's.

3. Your going with a v8, you should have lots more torque and horse power then currently

4. Why not do it once and be done with it.
this

when you destroy this rig, you will want to take your axles to the next one too. tons will fit in the next rig too. dont rush thru it and use axles just because you got a deal and you can make them work. big picture tons are not that much more expensive, and will be better.

I have to agree with Greg and Randy. Build axles once and be done with it .

And all the cool kids are doing it.

But main thing is, if you want them now, building with half tons isn't gonna make the want go away. One tons won't cost a whole lot more either. I have built my rig with narrow half tons, Full width half tons, and then one tons.... I wasted a lot of money.

With that all said, a nice set of shafts on full width 44/9, you can have lots of fun. But honestly, to get your half tons to hold up like you want, you're gonna have the same money as a set of stock 1 tons.

My .02 cents

This. Except I have built multiple rigs with multiple axles. Wasted even more money. But my last three rigs have pretty much retained the same axles. Makes a transition to different builds a lot more affordable.

Or you can keep the 30/35 in it. See what goes first.

About time.

If you have to ask if you should go to one tons, you should go to one tons.

When you get those sold/funds for big boy axles let me know. I might be able to hunt some down for a fair price.

Although I don't disagree about going to one tons right away, but I have been running the EB D44 and 9" for a few years now with out any issues. Chromoly shafts in the front and locked f/r. Although I'm only on 33's, I still follow all of my buddies on 37s and 40s (i know everyone says that but I really do )
