Today I put gas in the jeep for the first time since spring

After work I managed to run a bead of silicone sealer along the seams. I also cut up my hinges and took my doors off. pics to follow soon. Those frigen torx hinge bolts sucked too remove. 5 of the 12 bolts came out easy enough. The rest I had to weld nuts over top and remove them with a large wrench. I think I used about $10 in 5/8 nuts.

Yes it was a bit chilly on the way home. Kinda weird driving at night with no doors. To bad I took so long and summer is over.

I think the floors turned out pretty good. I had never worked with sheet metal before. I was suprised how well it formed with out alot of pressure. All the hard bends were done on the edge of the work bench.

I caulked most of the seams trying to keep the noise, heat, and elements out of the cab. There is still one area by the drivers foot that needs to be reworked, but I wanted to drive it.

Finally got around to installing my sound bar this weekend. I think it turnrd out great. I used a stock bar, recovered it with the same fabric that I used on my headliner for a clean look. I had some Rockford fosgate three way components laying around from my last stereo set up that were installed into this. Now when the doors come off I can still have some tunes. Plus they sound great.
I also had time to do some needed maintanence to it as well, like retightening several loose control arm bolts, an oil change, replacing a leaky p/s pressure hose, and greasing everything.

I think Im spending more money on the maintenace of this thing than I have building it. Few weeks ago I replaced a front hub unit, monday I found a broken motor mount and had to repair that aswell. However I have found a set of 5 rubicon wheels thanks to Moles. I want to put a set of 285/75/16 coopers on them. I mocked one wheel and tire on the jeep, all of my control arms, springs, and steering all clear! Now time to find a set of tires.
