You came here asking what people thought and we told you. Your car makes me want to gouge my eyes out and im sure its a turd. You can keep getting defensive and acting like an ass or just quit posting. Either way you are making me laugh.

who's sucking him off? I'm just pointing out what a retard you are asking him for a steel qoute for your shitty project as if he cares. Oh and are you sure the mustang was smoking the tires on the rollers or were they rubbing the body once they expanded?

So not only are you bragging about the mad skills you have in welding a piece of 2x6 tube to the back of a BDMT, but also trying to sell said piece of tube for $299?

I'm pretty sure a retarded 7 year old with ADHD could have designed something more visually appealing.

But at least that pretty, shiny paint job on that plain jane, warmed over, hunk of monkey shit bumper makes your truck look like an even bigger beat to fukc , hilljack, piece of shit. So ya got that goin for ya...

As a rule I try not to comment on home built stuff unless it is to say something positive. On the other hand when a vendor is in the wrong forum promoting their stuff, well that is fair game for honest criticism. And the more cocky the vendor is the more fun it is to point out their productís shortcomings. Since you are not a vendor yet (you certainly are cocky) Iíll make just a few comments.

While people will praise someoneís home built product, most will have a much higher expectation of quality, fit and finish when spending their hard earned $$$. Also, if you are going to sell products it is best to have a thick skin when it comes to criticism. You asked for feedback, did you really expect all positive, ass kissing praise?

What others know but didnít mention is it is not just about the bumper mounts; the frame mounting points must be taken into account as well. Your design will not help support the frame in a sideways pull like doing the gussets as Bones suggests would. Doesnít mean your mounts wouldnít work, just that for a little extra effort they could be much better.

Oh and since you seem to think no one can offer advice unless they have built stuff, here is a picture of a the latest bumper (front) I built for my truck:

This question is open to everyone: Why do squirt gun spray on welders try to make a stack of dimes look? Isnít that a weaker weld than doing it with a continuous bead?

I was under the assumption he welded it with a AC buzz box. That is what it looks like.

The stack of dimes look is more of a by product of a good weld. Usually. If the heat, speed, wire diameter, ect, is all correct then it usually results in a nice looking weld. With that said some people try to replicate a "stack of dimes" weld and do it without much consideration for the other important aspects of a weld and go for looks only.

Cell Phone pics from work.

1. you welded a flat peice of steel to a dumpster for a door hinge, sweet, I'll be sure to swallow when I suck your dick for being such an awesome dumpster fabricator.
2. that looks like shit, I mean it really looks like a big pile of boogers and weld completely un-necessary for the repair.

I also have no idea what I am talking about, I was never a welder/fabricator, not ever.

You guys are amazing. I still have money in hand and yet no one will show up and take it.

I bow to your skills with poop pipe and could never even come close to welding like your stack a tack hero's. I admit defeat. Your stock XJ's are far sweeter then anything I could ever come up with

I've learned alot in this thread like how I should grind all of my shit welds so the look smooth and no one can tell how shitty they are. I also should paint everything with rattle can flat black. C channel is a acceptable material to make anything out of. If I know anyone looking for a cheap POS beater to drive in the winter I'll send them here for sure. Have fun up there.

"up there" you are 6-10 hours WEST of most of the people that have posted in this thread, and significantly further from quite a few others. A distance that would burn up in fuel/lodging costs more than your pitiful $500 e-rage wager.

you, or a friend at least appear able to take a shitty video and host it on youtube. how about you put a 20,000lb drag load on an angle and prove us wrong

a 6,000lb average wheeling rig buried 30"+ into Michigan Mounds mud (or even up on drummond island) can easily generate drag levels approaching that.

or are those clevises mostly used as chain hooks for when you have a jetski trailer hooked up?

If you use that much fuel then you need to get rid of your pile of shit or learn how to tune it.

I'll get a video if you really want it but your going to have to put your money where your mouth is. I know that's hard for all of you who have posted in here as all you do is talk shit.

If you bump your offer up to $1500, I will drive down there this weekend and rip that bumper off your rig. If I fail, you can have the vehicle I bring down there to remove it, and I'll take a taxi to the airport and fly back.

If you accept, I will get a contract over to you to sign tomorrow.

it's 325 miles +/- from my town to your town according to maps.google.com

x2 that's 650 miles+/-

at 10 mpg which is pretty damned decent for a lifted, reasonably powered rig that's 65 gallons - at $4/gallon that's $260 right there. Add in the food/lodging which you so glaringly overlooked and one is easily at the $500 mark not to mention the 12-20 hours of valuable time spent making you look like the assclown you are.

I won't quote my billing rate for work, but I value my free time at 3x to 4x what I earn at work in part because I have so precious little of it.

the above is not talking shit - it's simple math/economics. probably something a semi-employed hilljack like yourself can't understand since you also missed several informative posts by professional's in this thread, but that all too was apparently "talking shit".

If you cant drive the 250 miles it takes and still make a profit with $500 that's your fault not mine. Now how about you post up something worth reading like your on your way or something.

So you don't have a trailer and something decent to pull it with? Not my fault.

I think you are the one that is amazing. You post pics and ask for opinions. Then when you get opinions that you don't like, you grow a large e-penis and start throwing out $500 bet. It's not worth my time to drive 5 hours over to your home, hook up a strap, bend your bumper, collect money and drive home.

What I find interesting is that you post up on Pirate and the only answer you get back is quite similar to the early replies you got here, before you got your swagger. And in case anyone wants to see it, here's the quote from Pirate;
A really hard pull to the side would probably bend the brackets right at the frame where your gussets end. If you put some gussets on the outside of the bracket all the way to the end of the mounting bracket, I think you would be ok then...

To me, your bumper looks OK but looks outdated. That's pretty much the way a bumper would have been built back in the 80's. Your welds are fine but nothing special. Are they OK? Sure.

Regarding giving you price on materials, that's a really stupid question from your end. Any reduced price you might find would be offset by the cost of shipping. You are in a steel making mecca. There are plenty of steel suppliers in the northern Indiana area.

Regarding your price of $299, to me it seems high.

Honest answers to your questions. Isn't that what you asked for?
