1973 Crew Cab Hauler

Well I dont have a build thread for my off road truck but I figured I would start one for my new project (even though my last ones not really done) which will be my tow rig.

Here the scoop. Brent/Farva/95Beast found the F-450 at the local salvage yard and I was able to pick it up for next to nothing. It had a badly damaged cab so I wanted to find a crew cab and swap it in place. While looking I stumbled upon an old school cab and front clip that was in the next town over. I went and looked at it that day and struck a deal, so here goes.

Here is the before photos of the 88 F-450

The first thing I decided to do was pull off the flat bed. It had a lot of damage and I figured it wasnt worth saving. Here is a half way tear down shot

I then brought it inside the barn to continue with the tear down.

Here is the back without the flat bed

The front clip and cab we next on the list.

That is about the tallest radiator I have ever seen in my life

Missing front clip

took off the windows and cut this off

convertible

Next on the to do list is get the seat and remainder of floor pan/firewall out so I can get the frame cleaned up front to back. Once the frame is cleaned up then Ill get to the body. Speaking of which . . .

Here is the first shots of the body intact as I purchased it.

I am not quite sure how in depth I am going to get but I am thinking of doing a mild rat rod theme with the build. I am just going to have fun with it.

Ouch. Time to halt work on the buggy and make the wife happy.

Yeah I ask myself all the time why I do half the things I do. I will post up a picture of what it will be hauling since i never did a rig build thread here for my offroad truck.

It has a jasper reman 7.3 so I am going to squeeze as much life out of it as I can I guess and maybe swap a cummins into it later on.

Also should have a few updates this weekend if I get the chance to work on it.
