My grandpa always cuts a criss cross pattern in them and lights them on fire. After an afternoon of smoldering they can be buried, Stump grinders work great for stumps that are too big for the pick up but not quite massive.

I have a 40' pine in my front yard that the little lady wants cut down, my only reasoning behind NOT taking it down is that damn stump. We will see how long it takes for me to lose the battle.

Kickstand I do have loads of crap, the old lady sells most of it on Craigslist.

as for the stumps I do burn some. some I have dug down past ground level and cut off. way hard on chainsaw teeth. you wouldn't believe how many rocks are in a stump below ground level. worst one to date was a 8-10" Russian olive stump. that bugger was so tough I busted one axe and had to buy another just to wear myself out and give up. it scummed to fire after two days of burning on top of it.

I have many stumps right now so feel free to come out and chop away at them till your hearts content :)

I would love to say yes. the fact I have them within 20 feet of my barn is a bit unnerving. hard to say where one might land?

I had a similar height pine in my backyard until it fell on my garage. The tree was dead for two years and it seems the root system of a pine doesn't go very deep.
I got home from work at 1:00am to see "POLICE LINE DO NOT CROSS" tape across my driveway! Apparently the winter ice/wind storm we had that evening was strong enough to topple the tree, which also took out my powerline to the house.
It all worked out fine, the insurance company gave me a nice check, my powerline was replaced and raised higher, and I cleaned up the mess and repaired the minor damage to the garage leaving all the insurance money to me.
Maybe this could work for you.
