http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/..._Valve_Mod.htm

You can read thru all this if you want, but you just take that funny little washer out that is on the end of the front bleeder valve.

LOL What do you mean by Jeep people? I laughed out loud Beefy.

There hasn't been any emotional attachment for me, with the last two of these that I've built. Just been trying to hang with the big boys. But to be honest.....I've just been tryin to replace a cj that I wrecked at Silver Lake. Just picked up a beautiful little cj5 that I've been trying to buy for about 12 years. Really excited about this one.

Full nut and bolt restoration......Kinda of a resto-mod if you want to call it that. Going to do a few modern mods, and try and keep it original as possible. The P.O. has had this since new. This was his first jeep in 1975, so I want to do it justice and restore it.

I just cannot fathom putting that much time into a rig then not using it myself I see a lot of jeep people doing this.

Either way I look forward to seeing the new build.

You had my old axles 1 year ago by the way

It's the nature of the hobby, not the specific vehicle. Ideas change, plans change, wheeling buddies and goals change. You'd see it just as often with trucks like yours but most people know better than to put that much effort into a Dakota

I'm with you Beefy, I have been modding mine now for 4 years and have owned it for almost 10. It would be very hard for me to watch it go away completely, I am planning a budget swap into a tube chassis in the future. When that happens though the only stuff going away will be the severely beat cab and the extremely cut up frame. The heart of the beast stays with me...for LIFE.

Yes its Jacks old cj. Its a 75. Everytime I go to Jacks I seem to end up looking at this thing.....Everyone can say what they want, and I know they will, but I dont plan on selling this one when its done.

Yeah I should have just used them. Would have saved a ton of time. I sold them to buy one tons, and then sold the one tons to buy another 44 and 8.8 Do you see a theme here?

Just like bbaXJ said, my interest change so much during a build, by the time I'm finished with it, I have already outgrown the build and want something different. I enjoy building stuff, and the only way I can afford to constantly do it is to sell the rigs when they are done. I learn so much on each build, that it just seems like everything gets better everytime I build one of these shitty little jeeps. I had my first frame off CJ for 5 year before I wrecked it.

No....Nothing crazy with this one. Just a few modern inprovements, like disc brakes, urethane paint, updated wiring, and maybe fuel injection. Other than that I want to do a complete restoration, and use the 33" tires, and 4" Skyjacker lift that Jack started to rebuild this with years ago. I'm pretty excited about this build, Its just cool to know the history of the jeep, and the person that bought this thing new. I'm still kinda in shock, and honored that Jack offered the jeep to me in the first place, he would shit himself If I cut this thing up. How is your junk coming along? I haven't checked on your build thread in awhile.

The pic below is kinda what I'm thinking. Going to paint it the original Renegade Blue, and just picked up a set of the factory style wheels last night. Well........I may build a cage for it too........Shit, maybe your right. It is going to get out of hand.

Mine is a bit different than Keith's. I would still LOVE to have the Scrambler and it'd still be beyond perfect for what I want. I simply can't justify a $40k toy at this point in my life so I've downgraded to a $15k TJ. My plans and goals changed/grew in the process and got switched around plenty, but actually getting rid of it was me smacking myself in the face with reality, not cuz I wanted something different. Itchy just has some ridiculous ADD(worse than me, as hard as that is to believe) and likes building more than wheeling

Resto-mod.....I like it. Stock-mild-lifted in appearence, with some modern reliability and beef tucked in here and there.

I have plans and all the parts for a similar adventure, '52 M38A1 body on a '66 CJ-5 frame with 225 V6(TBI??)/T-14/Dana 18/Saturn OD, offset flanged 44 rear, narrowed Chevy 44 front with Dana 30 hubs and drive flanges for that original look, disks all around, 5.38's and locked, SOA on flat springs to look right on skinny 33's, very minimal cage, everything OD green with military markings.

Now I just need to clear out the current garage whore to get started....2013?

Sounds like a solid foundation....I love the M38A1's. There is nothing better, in my eyes than a stock looking cj with a little muscle underneath.
