Three (3) Dana 300s available

I have three (3) Dana 300s available. Two of them are the 1980-only short tailshaft versions, and one is the standard Dana 300. Shift levers are included, but the knobs are missing. I plan on cleaning up & painting these, and listing them on eBay after the holidays. You guys know how much I like purty Dana 300s. :D

If anyone needs one, PM me or reply here before January 1st or so. I'll sell them for $150 each before the 1st of the year, and will donate $25 from each sale to the SOA Great 8 Restoration Charity Project. I will also trade any one of these Dana 300s for a complete, good-functioning Scout II Dana 44 rear axle w/3.54 gearing.

I could deliver to Northern Michigan (near the Mackinac Bridge) or Southern Michigan (just over the state line from Elkhart, Indiana).

I'm located near Grand Rapids, Michigan, BTW.

Thanks,
Craig

I have a complete drum to drum d44 from a scout. Prolly could use brakes but otherwise in good order. I'm in the soo if you get up to the bridge area, I could run it down there.

What side drop are these?

Hi Tim,

I edited my original post to specify 3.54 gearing. What's the gearing in your Scout II 44? The Dana 300s are all passenger drop. It's fairly common to install a flip kit, though, and run them in YJs/TJs, too.

BTW, we'll be heading up to Onaway in a week to celebrate Christmas (early) with my in-laws.

Damn...331 gears in this thing. Sorry, didn't notice it was you. Thought maybe I would finally get rid of this thing.

Yeah, I thought I recalled you saying it was something other than 3.54 before, but I wasn't certain. Sorry for the oversight (not mentioning the gearing) in my original post. Good luck with the sale.

Is the standard 300 in good mechanical order?

All 3 Dana 300s tested out as working fine. Each shifts easily into each gear, and engages the appropriate yokes with absolutely NO funny noises, "feel" (e.g. - notchiness/grinding), etc. PM me or reply back here if you're interested. Thanks.

I know this is a little late, but do you still have any of these still?

And if so, how much shorter are the short shaft ones? Also don't they have a stronger rear output shaft (don't have the shaft cut for the speedo gear)? I have a Scout rear axle. I need to check the ratio.

Thanks,
Fred

I'm sorry...I missed this post somehow. Both short-shaft D300s are gone, but I do have one long-shaft Dana 300 on eBay currently (username emenaker), and one other one that I'll be listing on eBay shortly. Both are in good functioning condition.
