From the United Fourwheel Drive Association delegate mailing list, read last paragraph first! Then let us us if you still fell like joining GLFWDA and UFWDA are not worth your time and money. Rest assured Michigan wont be far behind in taking our public land access from us.

Greetings from MN,

HF 1127 which basically removes truck trails from all state administered lands passed the House environment policy committee on Monday night. We had great testimony and did manage to sway one person who had originally planned to vote against us, but it was not enough, we lost 4 to 9. HF 1127 moves on to the House environment finance committee where we expect the same result, we just don't have the votes to kill this on the House side though we will still try hard. Our line to this committee is to argue that removing our trails will eventually lead to doing away with our dedicated account (no trails no reason for dedicated account) leaving the DNR with a million dollar hole annually which would cost them at least 2 conservation officers as well as many Trails and Waterways personnel that our account funds.

We are still waiting for the Senate companion to make it onto the agenda, SF 1094. This committee had previously agreed to let us show a 7 minute informational video we made about our sport, we hope this will help and better drive home our testimony. We hope to have better luck on the Senate side, but it is still looking very very bad for us. This bill should make it onto the agenda within a week or two and we will have little forewarning when it does.

Our state assoc. president has been in contact with SEMA for help already, to what end I do not know.

If there is any assistance you can render now is the time, we are seriously facing losing access to all state administered lands in Minnesota, only Alaska has more state administered lands than Minnesota, so this represents a huge loss.

Thanks, Alex.
