Default "E-Track" for enclosed trailer, also what to use for storage/organization?

I just picked up my enclosed trailer today, and I was looking at the "E track" systems for tying things down. Anybody use it? Pros, cons? Any reason to stay away from this stuff and go with something different?

I just like the versatility of it, and the ease of moving the tie down points since I will be pulling different things at different times.

Here is one of the kits I was considering:

Thanks for any info,
Kyle

I did it in mine and it worked great. Love the flexibility.

Two along the sides and two along the edges of the v-nose.

Semi trailer dealer on telegraph in Brownstown carries e-track and fittings.

That's what I was hoping to hear, thanks.

I did a bit of price checking online, and the deal on ebay was the best I came across. I went with the 32 piece kit, 8 5' long e-tracks, 8 D-ring tie downs, 8 web tie downs, and 8 end caps. Not bad for $140 shipped.

I'm planning on running a strip along the floor on each side of the trailer, about 2' off of the walls. Depending on how I like it, I may order some more so I can do a strip along each wall about 3' off of the floor.

So did you screw into the metal cross beams under the floor or just attach it to the wood floor itself?

screw to the metal cross braces...I had 3 rows in mine on the floor and 2 pieces on the wall to hold straps and the tie downs when not in use

I have the brackets to hold 2x4's and some extra end caps if your looking for more accessories for it

Hi Ron, I might be interested in those 2x4 E track brackets.

BTW the heaviest tie down I have found by far is sold by TSC it is a REALLY heavy duty welded round ring tie down (no strap) rated at 6K for about 6 bucks, I still would be hesitant tying down a vehicle with one but several might be fine.

UPS says my E track kit should be here tomorrow, I'm really looking forward to tearing into this project.

Other than the E Track, I'm looking at different options for storage and organization...

I think I'm going to pick up some of the Gladiator "gear track" channel that mounts on the wall, going to use that to hold helmets and some other small stuff. I'm also looking at some of the Gladiator garage cabinets for the front, seems to be reasonably priced stuff and decently built.

I guess its time to break out some graph paper and do some measuring to come up with a few different designs to make the most out of the space.

I'm considering picking up one of these bench sets from Lowes, but I'm not sure if I want something this big permanently mounted in the front of the trailer...it will take up quite a bit of space.

http://www.lowes.com/pd_315789-55738...2Bwork%2Bbench

What are you guys using for storage and organization? Just looking for ideas on what works and what is a waste of space...

I had e tracks in my first enclosed trailer. It sucked on the floor because running a trail rig, I was always getting dirt in the tracks. On my second enclosed trailer, I went back to floor mounted D-rings.

Now, they're awesome on the walls. Pat Kinne uses them to hold a fold down picnic table with great success.

E track works fine. Btw, you can get all the tracks and connections and ratchet straps at harbor freight.

A newbie makes a 1st post and bumps a 2 year old thread and you call him out. Your 115th post bumped a 2 year old thread. Not sure you should be the one calling someone out, Just saying.

Well...a year and a half later, the e-track is working out great.

I put 2 rows down on the floor to tie the quads down with, and it works perfect. I really like the versatility of this stuff. Like whiterhino mentioned, the tracks do get packed full of dirt/sand after a while...but it was easy enough to take care of with a shop vac once a season.

I also ended up getting a bunch of the Gladiator garage organization stuff like I mentioned from Lowes, I put 4 rows of the track on the front wall, and one row of it along the roof on one side.

These pics are from when I first got everything installed...I have since added a few more hanging baskets along the one side, and quite a few more hooks to keep everything organized and off of the floor. It only takes a second to move the baskets/cabinets...so this stuff works out perfect for a trailer.
