Toivo, it's awesome that you're taking it upon yourself to clean that mess. Thanks to all that helpout. If you have to pay at the landfill, post up about it and I'll donate some $$.

Toivo
you get a GL4X4 hero's badge (after the site administrators create one HINT-HINT) for good community deeds!

we have summer-use property in s.newaygo county and it always makes me nervous as hell going up there in spring and hoping some rednecks haven't moved in for the winter or torn the siding off for their wood burner.

people like the ones littering your piece of heaven are in that gray area between bigfoot and human.

with all those casings laying around it's probably best to not go there alone. i sometimes get a shiver and nervous feeling just driving fire trails and seasonal roads near the city of newaygo.

Made some good progress.

4 Tv's, two beds, a TON of bagged trash, a microvave, etc.

Found about 12 hillbillies out there causing more mess, set them in their place.

Thanks to joshchildress, XLJetsFan52, and his buddy, and the two nameless rednecks that stayed around to help clean up their mess.

Now to get rid of this shit

Theres still more to do, and I will be organizing another run in a few weeks to take care of the rest. We ran out of trash bags and truck capacity for today.

Yea, nice job today guys! For the time we spent, it looks a ton better. Next time we go out, do the other side, and maybe do something with all the dead trees someone decided to cut down.

^ I dont plan on going out tomorrow. Idno about Toivo though. But for future reference, its just west of Airborne Auto Salvage. On 9 mile road. If you type Big Rapids into Google.com/maps, Follow 15 mile road(Perry Ave.) over US 131. You'll pass Airborne Auto Salvage, and then 15 mile turns into 9 mile. Google Shows a road called Lyne Dr. But thats not even a road. But right after where google shows Lyne Dr. Will Be the two track.

When driving, after you pass airborne auto salvage, the road curves right, back left, and then it will curve right again. The two tracks are on the left hand side, right after that right curve.

Hope that makes since.

Ah nah. The only things we really used was a few rakes, shovels, and trashbags. We had to leave a few brush piles, and the recliner out there because the bed of the truck was full. Another thing that i believe would be nice to clean up the area would be a small chainsaw. I know its might be illegal to cut down trees on state land. But, if we got the dead trees that have fallen cut up, not only could somebody use it as firewood, but it would also make the place look 100% better, but that's just me.

FWIW when i have cleand up hoosier valley up in TC i have always called American Waste and 9/10 they offer to take it for free. Also whenever i call them to let them know i will be doing a clean up and will be bringing them stuff they let a few organizations up here know about what i am doing and i always end up with a group of 15 to 20 people.

The lady at American Waste told me that they are very active with local organizations that are trying to clean up our state lands.

If this cleanup was more serious, i would definitely take the time to call around. But it was really a last minute thing. Beside the area we did, about the size of half a football field, the rest of the trail is very clean, with minimum trash. But thanks for the tip,
