I considered getting a RZR until I saw some custom mini buggies. Dont get me wrong, I think RZR's are cool but check this thing out.

YouTube - sick jumps with my custom buggy
That thing is pretty cool, but it only holds one person, looks a lot wider and bigger than a rzr, and probably cost more just in shocks alone.

They can be built as a single or two seater. They're custom built and you can build them (or have them built) almost any dimension you want. There's a guy in Metamora that builds Edge designs with his own suspension design. 700 pounds with a 1000 to 1300 CC croth rocket engine...........schwing!

A buddy of mine has a RZR that he's got a total of about 19K into. They're not cheap either.

What are you thinking for doors? I have a set of the UTV Inc bolt-on (non opening) aluminum doors that I'm going to be pulling off of mine...good fit, good quality, I just want a set that opens up now. I will make you a good deal if you are interested...

Pretty soon this will look like a mini jeep. Then you can get a soft top for it, add heat and you'll be good to go in the snow. Oh, except for the short tires and ground clearance.

it was tall and it wasn't very safe...many photos of taco'd cages with small rollovers...and it didn't look cool

Today I was bored and had some metal lying around so I got out; 1.5" .095 DOM, the torch, a brake rotor, a big freaking hammer, a vice and a hacksaw and built this. I’m happy about how it turned out. I wanted something basic and light weight. I might ad a cross brace in it later, I’m not sure. I had some left over latex black paint from a darkroom project so I got out the roller and painted it black. I think it turned out pretty good.

I just saw this thread - fack - that turned out awesome. Especially for the high-dollar tube bender you used.

BTW, is that a tab for a dune flag? I heard you can get away with a lot more shenanigans if you have the proper dune flag affixed to the vehicle.

I'm sorry I read this thread. My wife would probably like one, and we have about 10 too many hobbies right now.

Does it have any kind of low range or crawling abilities?
