umm. Hillary has already came out to say she wouldn't be running for president, and she is going to focus on congress.

I defenetly don't think he did "wonders" however he was a great face-man after 9-11.

Interesting.

So the crime and murder rates and all the statistics tossed out before 9-11 weren't because of him?

I need to do some reading.

The best thing I like about Guiliani is he is a true New Yorker, born and raised around the blue collar life (parents were immigrant IIRC).

I guess I don't know what he has done in the last 5 years.

Although from what I know, he is probably the best suited for President compared to anyone else who wants the job

I am trying to figure out how we are screwed.

IMO if its guilianni against clinton, he will win.

Like you said he is known for his face from 9-11.

Here is a chart on Guiliani while in office

read up on him here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudy_Guiliani

I'm pretty sure he'll win against anyone. Just seems lately the US doesn't have many leaders that want to be the President.

And a reduction in crime is great, and I think he reduced the unemployment rate in New York by 4% or something large (during his 2 mayor terms), but still, in the late 90s I think almost all states were producing more and more jobs.

I think it would be interesting to see how he reacts to decisions (under his control) regarding terrorism/the war in the next 4-8 years, seeing as how he was the man in the trenches during 9-11

I guess ever since 9-11 I've only viewed him as a face in the media, especially after his term was over and he toured Isreal, Iraq, etc... but I'm not sure what he has actually done in the last 5 years

I guess I'll have to go back and read about him...

Another thing to ponder. He has 100% supported Bush with every move, yet Bush has the lowest approval rating in a long time (although I admit the general public is somewhat retarded).

If Guiliani has been elected President in 2000 or 2004, would we be in the same spot we are now?

I would say yes. If the public doesn't like Bush, then the only reason they would like Guiliani is because he was a great posterboy after 9-11. Rudy's and W's views are almost identical.

Isn't there supposed to be a seperation between church and state? Wouldn't the reverend in front of his name kind of blur that line just a little bit. Then again not like that matters didn't he get like 15 or 25% of the popular vote the last time he ran? I'm not actually old enough to remember that I just remember it coming up in discussion while I was failing history class :miff:

okay, I might have been half asleep on the other post, but Jesus that statement sure sounds like you got a beef with Christians.
And so what if he was an alcoholic, are you going to tell me you have never had a drink in your life? I bet PP probably got pictures of a majority of people on this board with one or two beers in them. Are they all bad too, or only if they are Christians and drank to much?
