Default Mountain Bike

i am looking to buy a used mountain bike and was wondering if anyone here was looking to get rid of one.

i would really like to get a trek or cannondale, but would also go for a good specialized or something like that.

closer to oakland macomb county the better as i would really like to take a look at it

not looking to spend a fortune...that why im not buying new and i dont need anything crazy...just a good rider

let me know what you have

Please PM me or email me direct at stillry@gmail.com

Have you checked out the classifieds on www.mmba.org? It's a pretty active site. Good luck.

How much are you looking to spend? And what type of riding? I've got an 09 Cannondale Rize. It's an all-mountain bike so it might not be what you want for around here. Also how tall are you?

im about 5'10 i went to the trek store the other day and an 18" worked if i brought the seat up a little, but might not hurt to try something a
little taller.
i tried going to the michigan mountain bike site and it is just too much stuff i dont understand and many people selling bikes way more than what i need.

i would like to spend 200-500 depending on what it is. the trek store had a couple 3500's and 3700's in the $489 range...so if i am spending that, obviously i would like a bike better than that
.. i have not owned a REAL bike in a long time and am really just getting back into it. i would like to have shocks, and disc brakes would be pretty cool but not a necessity.

i think i would actually prefer an all mountain bike.. i looked at some cross breed dual purposes and they didnt seem really up my alley

Mines a medium (equivalent to an 18" I believe) and I'm your height and honestly I'd get a large next time. And I couldn't part with mine for 500. That's why I asked. 5'10" is kinda in between a medium and large. You could go either but personally I like the feel of a large more. Best bet is to test ride both.

Check out Giant. They are the same as Trek but more affordable. They are the largest producer of bikes. (at least they were when I used to work at KLM in Rochester)
