Arrow 1953 Chevy 1/2 ton Pickup

My Dad and I have owned this truck for about 7 years. It's a 1953 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup truck 3100. We have put alot of time and money into it ever since we bought it. It has a 1954 Chevy 235ci inline 6 motor with a s10 5 speed trans. Rear end is a 12 bolt with 3.73 gear. We replaced just about everything under the hood and it runs like a sewing machine. Got a wood bed kit installed as well.

Recent mod's - We decided to drop the truck 3" with dropped leafs on all 4 corners. Currently front is taken apart, we are waiting for the new leaf springs to come in this Friday. Also replacing shocks with shorter ones. Also replacing the old worn out spedometer cable, old one is out and new one is going in tomorrow. We plan on getting some Chrome mag wheels with a different offset and turn the white walls in. Pics of truck and recent progress below. Any questions just ask. More recent progress pics to come.

Pretty. I'd drop it and leave the stockers with the white walls on it. Looks sweet

I like it. There are 51 and 35 Chevy's at my shop in various stages of completion. The 51 is a complete resto mod on a S-10 frame and a mild small block.

The 35 has a 3" chop, custom frame and a 700hp Pontiac in it. The evil twin.

thanks all. The stock springs bounce all over the road, 10 leafs in front and 9 in back. We are hoping to get a better ride and stance with the 3" dropped springs/shocks. Looking for a set of wheels. We need 6 on 5.5 pattern, 15x7 and 3.5-3.75 backspacing and chrome.

We keep bouncing back and fourth on SBC swap but we got alot wrapped up in the inline 6, runs great and around 25mpg. Maybe in the future SBC swap.

Personally some coker wide whites would be sweet. We have a 53 as well. But its on a 75 short bed frame. So power steering and brakes. Built small block. It is 4x4 though. Still a project.

Got any pics of your 53? We're looking for a set of wheels, 6 on 5.5 pattern, 15x7, and 3.25-3.75 backspacing.

I can get some. Its not real clean. Solid but dented up pretty good. So we're going for the rough rat rod look. The only wheels we have are on it. Stock Chevy truck wheels with the chrome ring and center caps. And Q78-15 mud tires. 4" lift. We bought it on a 4 wheel drive bronco chassis and put it on the Chevy chassis.

Sounds cool. We have a 38 Ford rat rod with a 31 ford bed and narrowed 46 frame. Lots of modern parts, fresh 302 small block, t5 trans, 4 wheel disk brakes, 8.8 explorer rear end with 3.73 gear.

We need spring plates, the guy we bought the truck from fabbed some shit ones on there, 2 piece junk style. Also had 2 different shocks on it, 1 normal one and 1 with a coil spring on it...
